Science Buddies
Science Buddies help young children complete fun science projects at the Yonkers Riverfront Library. Activities may include:
- Colors and Hidden Messages: Color by number and reveal hidden messages using color filters
- Cloud in a Bottle: Make a cloud in a bottle using condensation
- Chameleons and Camouflage: Color paper chameleons
- Straw Rockets: Design a rocket and launch it
- Origami Penguins and Elephants: Make an origami penguin or elephant while learning about them
- Learning about Senses: Sniff different scents in film canisters and try to guess what they are; students try to guess which two scents are the same
Activities are part of JCY's Summer Reading Buddies program and are held every Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. from July 9 through August 13.
