Create Sock Bundles this Holiday Season!
Create "sock bundles" for people experiencing homelessness! This is a DIY project that can be done at home with children or as a group project.
Socks are one of the most needed and least donated items in homeless shelters. Sock bundles consist of a new pair of socks, two items from the list provided (after expressing interest), and a homemade card in a quart-size Ziplock bag. New this year are sock bundles specifically geared towards women.
Bundles will be distributed in December and January, so general card messages work best:
- Wishing you a wonderful day
- Thinking of you
- Hope this brightens your day
- Please do not include holiday messages
These donations can be dropped off at Volunteer New York! in Tarrytown, Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. They will be distributed to homeless shelters, soup kitchens, and pantries throughout Westchester, Rockland, and Putnam Counties.
Express interest below for the directions.
Age Minimum (with Adult): 3+, Minimum Age:12+, Court Ordered Volunteer - Allowed
