Opportunity Details

Big Brothers Big Sisters Youth Mentors

Volunteering as a Big Brother or Big Sister is rewarding and easy. Bigs spend 4-6 hours with their Littles twice-monthly, doing low- or no-cost activities of shared interest such as playing catch, hiking, sharing a pizza, or just hanging out and talking.

Volunteer Mentors are provided with training and an orientation, as well as ongoing support by professional staff. Big Brothers Big Sisters is currently accepting applications and interviewing both in-person and via web conferencing.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Westchester County (BBBS), an affiliate of BBBS of America, helps at-risk children reach their potential through professionally supported one-to-one relationships. The positive, lasting impact Bigs have on children's lives is clear: Littles are 52% less likely to skip school, 46% less likely to begin using illegal drugs, and more likely to get along with their families and peers.
