The Alzheimer's Association Hudson Valley Chapter is seeking a director to join its board. - Enhance the organization’s public image.
- Assess the Board’s performance.
- Recruit and train new board members using sound board policies.
Expectation of the board:
- To include the Alzheimer’s Association among their top charitable commitments.
- To support the concept of a "culture of philanthropy" and look for ways to help improve fundraising activities. Chapter board members will also be expected to participate in chapter-specific fundraising activities. Chapter board members will be expected to contribute to the Association at a level that is appropriate for each board member's total amount of charitable giving and the community. The current give/get minimum for fundraising for each new board member is $10,000 annually.
- To advise the chapter executive in guiding the Chapter’s strategies and policies to better serve people suffering with Alzheimer’s and their caregivers.
- To provide input on critical issues through regular participation in Board meetings, including special meetings such as Board retreats, and through active service on at least one committee. Board meetings are currently held 4-6 times during the year.
