Food Pantry Van Loading and Unloading Volunteers
Rockland Community Action Program is seeking volunteers who can assist with loading food into its van at a regional distribution site and unload it again upon arrival at its food pantry (about 5 miles—or 15 minutes—away). Volunteers will meet at the Cornell Cooperative Extension parking lot in Stony Point to help load the Haverstraw Community Action van with food, then follow the van (using their own cars) to the Haverstraw Community Action site in Haverstraw to help unload the food.
This opportunity will take place once or twice a month for 1.5 hours; help out as much or as little as you'd like! Volunteers must be able to lift about 30 pounds and wear comfortable clothing and closed-toe shoes. This is an outdoor opportunity.
