MLK Day 2022 – Volunteer to Sort Much Needed Medical Supplies

Since 2008, the Afya Foundation has been fulfilling its mission to improve healthcare delivery in underserved communities around the world. Afya accomplishes this goal by coordinating with local medical professionals on the ground and facilitating customized shipments of rescued surplus medical supplies and equipment that improve local health systems. Our regional network of medical supply donors and volunteers enables Afya to meet immediate humanitarian needs in areas devastated by natural disaster or public health crises in tandem with our long-term programs to address chronic health disparities.
Volunteers are needed to help sort through donated consumable, personal care, surgical, and humanitarian supplies. These sorted goods will be included in shipments to the Caribbean, Africa, and local health systems.

• All volunteers must be fully Covid-19 vaccinated. Proof of vaccination must be shown prior to entering the sorting area.
• All volunteers must wear a mask during their volunteer shift.
• Once you register here on VNY!'s website, volunteers will recieve a confirmation email with a link to additionally register in Afya's volunteer portal. This is important because this includes Afya's liability waiver and publicity consent form.

Volunteers must be at least 16 years old or 5 years old with an adult to participate in this event. All children 5 to 16 years old must be with an adult at all times and fill out a youth waiver.
