2022 Lobby Refresh Project Volunteers

Wartburg Adult Care Community's Waltemade Lobby is often the first impression that visitors have; this high-traffic area is where families wait to greet their loved ones and where staff take a break and recharge for their shift. Through the years, it has become worn and tired and it is desperately in need of a refresh.

Handy volunteers are needed to help Wartburg bring light and importance to this much-used space. Volunteers will remove wallpaper, paint walls and wainscoting, hang new art, and install new lighting and furniture. This is a great opportunity for skilled individuals with experience in remodeling, building, painting, interior design, and wallpaper installation, as well as organizations, corporate groups, small businesses, and union groups. Volunteers will be provided with all the tools and supplies they need, but they are welcome to bring their own work gloves, masks, and more if they think they will be useful. • Remove wallpaper in lobby and bathroom
• Prep walls and wood for paint
• Prime wood
• Epoxy countertop
• Paint walls in lobby and bathroom
• Paint wainscoting
• Cover columns
• Hang wallpaper
• Install organization shelves behind the reception
• Re-cover chairs, put in place
• Hang awards and organizational information
