Organize Clothing for Children and Teens in Need (Port Chester)

Help children and teens return to school with the clothing and essentials like socks, underwear and jackets that they need to keep them in school where they can learn and thrive. Volunteers will help us sort and size fall and winter clothing for infants, children, and teens. The Sharing Shelf asks volunteers to bring a donation of new underwear for teen boys (adult sizes S - XL) and teen girls (women's bikinis in 5, 6 or 7) or a large box of diapers in sizes 4, 5 or 6. Volunteers can purchase these items beforehand (visit The Sharing Shelf's Target or Amazon registry for ideas) and bring them with them to their volunteer project on Saturday, September 10th. Underwear and Diapers are a basic necessity. They are a daily essential yet, unfortunately, for many children in Westchester a luxury their families struggle to provide. Your donation will not only help children feel good, but it will also meet a human need in our community. 
All volunteers must be at least 14 years old. Teens 14-17 must volunteer with their own parent. For this event, we are not accepting teen volunteers in groups or without their parent. Dress in comfortable, casual clothing and shoes. Please leave handbags and jackets in the car. Directions: we are on the left side of Purdy immediately after Townsend (do not turn left on Townsend). Look for a large blue sign on your left. Turn left into our driveway and come up the hill then bear right into the parking lot. Use any open space. All volunteers must be vaccinated and boosted for Covid-19. Masks are currently optional but we are monitoring Covid levels in the counties and will follow CDC guidelines for any masking suggestions.
