Create Cards for the Troops – Shames JCC on the Hudson
United For the Troops was created by friends and families of our troops serving the U.S. overseas. Our sole purpose is to make life while at war a little better for our brave men and women serving in the U.S. military by sending care packages with goods that the military does not provide them. Volunteers will write inspirational notes and cards for deployed service members. These notes will be included in care packages sent by United for the Troops to deployed service members letting them know someone is thinking of them. They're the first thing our servicemen and women see when they open their packages, and they remind our military how thankful we are. Volunteers must be at least 16 years old or 5 years old with an adult to participate in this event. All children 5 to 15 years old must be with an adult at all times and fill out a youth waiver. PARKING: There is one entrance to the JCC only, right off of route 9. The entrance is around the side when you pull in, volunteers should park in the second lot. Look out for the signage to help. Shames JCC is a vax required facility, and all volunteers ages 12+ will have to show proof of vaccination to be let in for the Day or Service. We are monitoring covid levels in the counties and will follow CDC guidelines for any masking requirements we might put in place. This project is a part of 9/11: Serve + Remember.
Age Minimum (with Adult): 5+, Minimum Age:16+
