Engagement Assistant Intern

Lifting Up Westchester is seeking an Engagement Assistant Intern to help provide administrative support and develop relationships with community organizations, clubs, and donors. This role is ideal for someone with a desire to help their community and understands the value of working for a nonprofit while upholding the organization's mission. This role will aid the organization in building strong and lasting relationships in order to continue receiving donations and support to help those in need. This is a perfect opportunity for a college student seeking internship credit.

Engagement Assistant Intern responsibilities:

  • Provide support in organizing events
  • Data entry
  • Organizing drives and community projects
  • Greet donors
  • Sort, organize, maintain, label, and distribute donations to various partners
  • Other general duties as assigned

Skills and qualifications:

  • Current Bachelor's level student
  • Knowledge of homelessness and food insecurity issues
  • Ability to work independently and to prioritize/organize tasks
  • Ability to follow oral and written directions
  • Attention to detail
  • Strong critical thinking skills
  • Strong organization skills
  • Strong time management skills
  • Punctuality and availability
  • Ability to accurately document research findings and correspondences in a timely manner
  • Ability to learn database software
  • Able to provide own transportation to White Plains office; some remote tasks available
  • Professional demeanor in all areas of interaction/correspondence (phone, email, text messages and in-person)
  • Willingness to learn and explore additional avenues to complete assigned projects
  • Experience with Microsoft Office programs
  • Genuine interest in advancing the mission of Lifting Up Westchester
  • Must be able to show proof of full vaccination and complete a background check
