Help Patients Tell Their Life Story
White Plains Hospital is looking for Life Story Facilitators to interview patients at the Center for Cancer Care and record their life stories. Volunteers are trained to artfully abridge a patient's story so it can be encapsulated in a writing between 700-1,000 words. The volunteer must be able to listen, converse, and possess excellent writing skills (as reflected in a writing sample) and be sensitive to a patient's physical and emotional condition. Volunteers commit to at least one year for this program.
Volunteers will be asked to complete an application, an interview, and pass volunteer medical and hospital clearance. Express interest below to get started!
