2023 Hudson Valley Maker Faire
GARNER Arts Center's new festival, the Hudson Valley Maker Faire, is a large-scale, family-friendly showcase of creative innovation and S.T.E.A.M.-inspired works. At the center of the festival will be a variety of interactive demonstrations and creative displays from makers, artists, hobbyists, tinkerers, builders, performers, students, and engineers based throughout the Hudson Valley, tri-state area, New York City, and the outer boroughs. Hudson Valley Maker Faire will feature additional art attractions as well, including more than 40 open artist studios, live music and performances, gallery exhibitions, large-scale installations, creative activity stations, and a variety of local craft food and beverage offerings.
Dedicated volunteers are needed to help with a variety of roles. All volunteers will be provided a lunch break and a meal, a GARNER Arts Festival T-shirt, and a free ticket to the day opposite their volunteer shift (i.e. volunteers who help on Saturday will get a free ticket to Sunday's event, and vice-versa).
Volunteer are needed for the following roles:
- Entry Point Volunteers: staff the check-in tables (for pre-sold tickets) as well as the tables for walk-up purchases, hand out brochures, and provide general info
- Concessions Volunteers: sell refreshments and staff the GARNER merchandise/membership table
- Gallery/Exhibit Attendant: manage indoor exhibition spaces and capacity, answer visitor questions, watch art
- Kids' Art Workshop Volunteers: support the creative activity stations and teaching artists
- Runners: assist various areas of the festival, including galleries, stage, craft vendors, staff, food vendors, performers, and visitor services
Previous event experience is preferred, but not required. Express interest below!
