2023 Putnam Heart Walk

The Putnam Heart Walk is the cornerstone of the American Heart Association's movement to encourage all Americans and their employers to create a culture of physical activity and wellness so that we may all live longer, heart-healthy lives.

Volunteers are needed to assist with a variety of roles throughout the day. Sign up for one or more shifts below!

• Morning Shift Volunteers (7-9 a.m.)
  • Setup: assist with setting up tables, signs, and water stations at the Start/Finish lines and along the walk route
  • Food Tent: set up the food tables and hand out food to the early-arriving walkers
  • Registration: welcome volunteers and walkers and assist them with the registration process
• Event Crew Volunteers (8:30 a.m.-12 p.m.)
  • Greeters: greet participants as they arrive and hand out programs. Cheer the walkers at the beginning of the walk and thank them afterward
  • Parking/Information: direct participants to the Heart Walk from the parking lot
  • Food Tent: hand out food to walkers before and after the event
  • Water Station: hand out water to walkers along the walk route at one of two water stations
  • Kids Zone: entertain children with heart-healthy activities, face-painting, sports, and games
  • Photos: volunteers who are handy with a camera can help take company, team, and candid photos or assist with the Healthy Selfies booth
  • Health Ambassadors: volunteer in the vendor area and be assigned to one of the health education booths, such as teaching guests about hands-only CPR
• Post Event Volunteers (11 a.m.-12:30 p.m.)
  • Cleanup: assist after the event by cleaning up signs, food, tables, chairs, etc.
