2023 Financial Literacy Mentors for Elementary School Students - Yonkers
Junior Achievement of New York inspires and prepares young people to be successful in a global economy. Volunteer Financial Literacy Mentors are needed to introduce scripted, hands-on lessons to 6th-grade students in Yonkers. Mentors serve as positive role models as the students gain the skills, knowledge, and motivation to be successful in the classroom, in the workplace, and in life. Training, materials, and support will be provided by Junior Achievement. The students' teacher will remain in the classroom to support the classroom volunteer mentors efforts.
All of Junior Achievement program material is aligned with NYS Learning Standards, and its programs are available in elementary and secondary schools throughout Westchester County. High school students to adults may be a classroom volunteer for the elementary school program. Business individuals and adults may facilitate the secondary grades program. Junior Achievement programs are available in the classroom Monday through Friday based on a prearranged schedule with the teacher and classroom volunteer.
