Water Quality Stewards
Westchester Parks Foundation is seeking volunteers to collect regular data on the water quality of the Bronx River in coordination with the Bronx River Alliance's Project Water DROP. Once trained, stewards will conduct field sampling of the Bronx River on Thursday mornings through October at its Clean River Project location in Tuckahoe. Water Quality Stewards will meet, then walk the path together to the project site and collect the samples and data. One volunteer per week will also drive samples (a 22-minute ride) to the Bronx River Alliance lab. No prior experience is necessary, and all sampling materials will be provided.
