Board Member (Marketing)

Homeless Remedies is a nonprofit that aims to help homeless individuals achieve self-sufficiency and to improve the quality of life for the underserved. It is seeking a Board Member and marketing professional to assist with its marketing and public relations needs.

Experience required:

• Bachelor’s degree in marketing, public relations, or a related field with excellent persuasive written and verbal communication skills
• 2+ years of professional marketing experience
• Accomplished understanding of social media and experience working with bloggers

Essential duties:

• Establish and sustain working relationships with Homeless Remedies Inc.'s Chief Executive Officer, Chief Operating Officer, and Board of Directors members
• Provide best practices, guidance, and recommendations to grow awareness of what Homeless Remedies Inc. has to offer within communities
• Analyze social network trends and manage Homeless Remedies Inc.'s brand presence on social media and social networks
• Create content to optimize Homeless Remedies Inc.'s website on search engines. Supervise updates on Homeless Remedies Inc.'s website
• Develop and organize marketing initiatives, promotional events, and campaigns
• Manage marketing initiatives, promotional events, and campaigns' essential tasks materials, and content
• Create and supervise organizational publicity strategies, and promotional events to attract potential supporters and retain existing funders
• Perform relevant tasks to increase Homeless Remedies Inc.'s exposure and revenues
• Prioritize communications with members of the board of directors regarding proposed and active marketing initiatives, events, and campaigns
• Prepare follow-up and results reports of marketing/campaign projects to be shared during board meeting
• Serve on the board of directors' fundraising committee

Board responsibilities:

• Prepare for and attend a minimum of 3 board meetings annually
• Have a working knowledge of Home Remedies Inc.'s mission and policies
• Adhere to Home Remedies Inc.'s bylaws, policies, and board meeting decisions/decrees
• Serve as an advocate and ambassador for Homeless Remedies Inc.
• Participate in fundraising and resource development
• Maintain confidentiality regarding all Homeless Remedies Inc.'s internal matters
• Satisfy board members "Give and Get" initiative of $500 to Homeless Remedies Inc. in a lump sum upon acceptance of said board position, or in 3 installments within 3 months of joining the board of directors
