2023 Adopt a RISE Family for the Holidays

RISE (Rehousing in Supportive Environments) is a collaboration between My Sisters' Place, Caring for the Hungry and Homeless of Peekskill, and Lifting up Westchester that helps house survivors of domestic violence and their children who are homeless due to domestic violence or who want to flee their abusive situation. Together, these agencies help families reintegrate themselves into the community after experiencing abuse. For many, this will be the first time they will be spending the holidays alone.

Volunteers are asked to "adopt" a RISE family to help bring some much-needed holiday cheer this season. Once volunteers are matched with an anonymous family, they will receive the survivor's story as well as their holiday wish list. Volunteers will purchase and wrap gifts on the family's wish list and deliver them to My Sister's Place office by December 8, 2023. The gifts will then be delivered to their adopted family.

To "RISE" to the occasion and "adopt" a RISE family for the holidays, express interest below—or express interest as a "family, group, or team" if volunteering as a group of two or more—to get started.
