Volunteer Program Staff
G.O.O.D. for Girls, Inc. is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that was launched in 2010 to mentor the young girls, ages 9-18, of Westchester County and the surrounding areas. It teaches young girls how to become the best version of themselves—today and in the future—by providing mentoring that strengthens positive development skills such as personal identity, communication, and informed decision-making.
The girls meet the first and third Saturdays of each month for focused interactive learning activities, attend special events, go on trips, or engage in community service which will support their growth.
G.O.O.D. for Girls is seeking Volunteer Program Staff to assist with program curriculum and implementation.
Volunteer Responsibilities:
- Work both directly and indirectly with young girls ages 9-18
- Assist with program curriculum design and implementation
- Act as a role model/teacher/mentor and provide guidance to support the positive development of program participants (mentees)
- Collaborate with various organizations and community leaders to secure resources to help create robust programming
- Be flexible and have a sense of humor
Requirements:
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- High school diploma or GED; 2 years or more of post high school education preferred
- Strong desire to work with and encourage young girls to be their best selves
- Patience, conflict-resolution, and behavioral management skills
- Excellent communication skills
- The ability to work well with teams
- Experience working with youth preferred
- Must successfully complete a background check
- Available for weekly team meetings
- Attend Saturday sessions every first and third Saturdays
