Volunteer Interpreters (Portuguese Creole)

Neighbors Link Community Law Practice is the legal arm of Neighbors Link that provides a full array of immigration legal services, from citizenship applications to removal proceedings, to both detained and non-detained individuals, adults, and children in New York family court, federal court, and before ICE, USCIS, EOIR, and BIA. The Community Law Practice represents a wide array of immigrant New Yorkers, especially those from the northern tier countries in Central America, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, as well as the Caribbean, West Africa, Latin American, the Middle East, and Russia.

The legal office in Ossining is in need of Portuguese Creole translators. This volunteer role would include in-person translation, phone translation, and potentially office work translation. Volunteers can work at the office, on clinic days at shelters with newly arrived families, or remotely.
