MorDance, an innovative and thriving ballet company, invites dedicated individuals to join its Board of Directors as it embarks on an exciting new chapter after relocating from New York City to Yonkers in January 2024. Its current Yonkers home is temporary and it has ambitious plans for acquiring and building its own space within the next 3 years, featuring a 200-seat black box theater.

About MorDance: Since MorDance's founding in 2014, the company has experienced remarkable growth, establishing itself as a cutting-edge ballet company with a strong commitment to community engagement. Its vision includes the creation of a permanent home in Yonkers that will serve as a rehearsal space, performance venue, and educational hub. This space will not only be the heartbeat of MorDance but also a community center fostering collaboration and creativity.

Board Member Responsibilities: As a key member of MorDance's Board of Directors, responsibilities will include:

• Providing strategic guidance and governance to support MorDance's mission and growth
• Participating in board meetings (first Tuesday of every quarter), contributing to decision-making processes, and aiding in fundraising initiatives
• Join at least one board committee (strategic plan, donor and resource development, marketing and PR, etc.)
• Advocating for MorDance and its vision within the community

Qualifications: MorDance is seeking individuals who possess:

• Passion for the arts and dedication to MorDance's mission
• Previous experience in board leadership or relevant expertise (event planning, finance, law, marketing, etc.)
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Enthusiasm for supporting MorDance's journey toward its own home and community center
