2024 Forest Preschool Program Assistants
The Friends of Rye Nature Center is seeking individuals over the age of 18 to assist with day-to-day tasks for its Forest School program. Forest Preschool is a program that allows children ages 3-and-a-half to 5 to engage with the outdoors while building essential skills for lifelong learning. Program participants spend the majority of their day outdoors exploring Rye Nature Center's 47-acre forest.
Volunteers are needed Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Responsibilities include:
- Walking children to and from their primary preschool program
- Supervising children during lunch breaks
- Assisting Forest Preschool staff with activities such as reading stories or facilitating crafts
This is ideal for individuals who enjoy working with kids, are comfortable being outdoors in all weather conditions, and can work independently. All volunteers are required to complete paperwork and consent to a background and New York State sex offender check. Express interest below!
