Data Entry Volunteers
The Westchester County Archives serves as the central repository for the County’s historical governmental records, dating from 1680 to the present. It is looking for volunteers to help transcribe its older documents and enter information into online indexes, specifically citizenship records from the 1920s through the 1960s. Volunteer training consists of on-the-job apprenticeships under the supervision of Director of Volunteers as well as instruction on the Archives and its collections.
Responsibilities and qualifications:
- Detail-oriented
- Interest in local history
- Comfortable using computers
- Ability to read handwriting and cursive
Time Commitment:
- One to three hours a week, Monday through Friday during business hours
