Opportunity Details

Community Giving Cupboard Program Volunteers

The Extended Family provides meaningful activities for adults with intellectual or physical disabilities in a fun, relaxed atmosphere. One such activity is the Community Giving Cupboard project, in which individuals help sort and pack food products that are then donated to local pantries. The packages, which include dried soups, meals-in-a-bag, trail mixes, granola, and coffee, help support food-insecure residents in the community.

Volunteers are needed to assist project facilitators with the following activities:

  • Help plan and organize daily activities
  • Set up on-site workstations for in-person participants
  • Work with participants to prepare ingredients for food pantry donations
  • Assist with inventory management and organization
  • Have fun!

This is a great opportunity for college students as well as retired teachers, especially those with experience in special education. Express interest below!
