Outpatient Volunteers
Burke Rehabilitation Hospital is seeking volunteers to serve at its various outpatient satellite sites throughout Westchester and Rockland County, including Armonk, Bronx, Elmsford, Mamaroneck, New Rochelle, Purchase, Somers, White Plains, West Harrison, West Nyack, and Yonkers.
Volunteer responsibilities:
- Warmly welcome patients as they arrive
- Assist in cleaning and organizing therapy equipment and supplies
- Assist with cleaning treatment rooms and mats between treatments
- Assist in keeping patient common areas clean and tidy
- Restock linens and supplies in treatment areas
- Under the direct supervision of a physical or occupational therapist, may assist the therapists with a variety of treatment sessions
- Assist in other general needs of the Outpatient Department
Volunteers must:
- Perform hand hygiene at key points in time
- Be at least 17 years of age; for high school-aged applicants, one must be enrolled in their senior year
