2024 Rosh Hashanah Package Delivery and Friendly Visit with Older Adults

DOROT’s Rosh Hashanah Package Delivery brings hundreds of older adults and volunteers together to share warmth and companionship. Volunteers are needed to deliver a thoughtful, seasonal care package and connect with an older neighbor.

Volunteer requirements:

• ​Must be 18+ (13+ allowed if an adult expresses interest as a team with the youth volunteer on that team)
• Must provide a valid, U.S. government-issued photo ID
• Must be able to attend the online orientation
• Must be able to pick up and deliver packages at the specified date and time

This activity involves several steps and requires volunteers to register on a separate website:

1. Before September 16: "Express Interest" below to record this opportunity in your Volunteer New York! profile and alert the volunteer coordinator. If volunteering alongside one or more other people OR with a volunteer aged 13-17, click "Express Interest With a Family, Group or Team." Registration for this opportunity closes on September 16 at 11:59 p.m.
2. Click here to complete your registration with DOROT Westchester. Volunteers who do not complete this step will not be registered!
3. On September 17 at 5:30 p.m.: log online to attend a Zoom orientation with instructions on delivering your package. (Zoom invitation information will be emailed to you after registering)
4. On September 22 from 10:30 a.m.-12 p.m.: pick up a care package from DOROT and deliver your package to your assigned neighbor's home. Stick around for a 30-45 minute visit!
