TaSH Farmers Market Hands - delete

TaSH Hands support the Market Manager in the smooth operation of the Tarrytown and Sleepy Hollow (TaSH) Farmers Market. The TaSH Farmers Market is run by Rivertowns Village Green, Inc., a 501c3 nonprofit organization. This is perfect for community service hours and for anyone who wants to a hands-on, fun volunteer activity where they can meet people and be outdoors.

Volunteer duties:

• Working from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturdays between Memorial Day Weekend and the first Saturday in December on a rotating schedule as determined by the Market Manager. Full-day shifts include a 30-minute break
• Setting up and breaking down TaSH-related activities at the market, including but not limited to:
  • Setting up tents
  • Setting up tables
  • Setting up merchandise displays
  • Setting up music and speakers
  • Displaying various signage
• Keeping an accurate hourly count of visitors to the market
• Staffing the TaSH Info Tent, including:
  • Interacting courteously and knowledgeably with vendors and shoppers
  • Accurately handling sales of TaSH Merchandise and TaSH tokens
  • Accurately, courteously and respectfully handling the charging and distribution of SNAP benefits and tokens
  • Maintaining the Info Tent in an orderly and clean state
  • Restocking merchandise and tokens
• Filling in for vendors when they take breaks
• Completing other tasks as assigned by the Market Manager

Qualifications:

• Detail-oriented, conscientious, thorough
• A quick learner
• Able to take initiative
• Curious and eager to learn
• Friendly and outgoing
• Able to lift and carry 30 pounds
• Prior work experience in a service position is a plus
• Second language is a plus
