Board Members

The STEM Alliance's Board of Directors plays a critical role in guiding the organization's growth, ensuring sustainability and advancing its mission of creating a network of STEM learning opportunities. These efforts connect children and adults to skills that lead to in-demand jobs with higher pay scales, contributing to economic development in Westchester County.

Board Member qualifications

  • A passion for advancing STEM education and digital equity as tools to create pathways to opportunity and economic mobility
  • A vision for building a future where every individual, regardless of their circumstances, can access the tools and knowledge needed to thrive
  • A strong commitment to promoting opportunity through STEM education and digital equity
  • A background or connections that can enhance the STEM Alliance's ability to fundraise and build partnerships
  • Expertise in legal, corporate, or community sectors that can support the organization's growth and strategic priorities

Board Member responsibilities

  • Volunteer approximately 5-10 hours each month to contribute to the oversight and governance of the STEM Alliance
  • Provide strategic oversight and governance to support the STEM Alliance's mission
  • Actively advocate for digital equity and STEM education within their networks
  • Contributing to fundraising efforts and leverage networks to advance organization goals

The STEM Alliance is a Westchester County-based nonprofit organization that bridges systemic gaps in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math education with the goal of empowering communities, inspiring innovation and creating opportunity for all. Its work creates a network of STEM learning opportunities with the goal of connecting children and adults to skills that lead to jobs that are in high demand and have higher pay scales. It works in three primary areas: STEM enrichment, summer enrichment, and Digital equity.
