2024-2025 Financial Literacy Mentors for High School Students - Rockland County

Junior Achievement of New York inspires and prepares young people to be successful in a global economy. Volunteer Financial Literacy Mentors are needed to lead the "JA Take Stock in Your Future" program at high schools throughout Rockland County. Volunteers serve as positive role models as the students learn basic concepts about how the stock market works and the impact of current events on the stock market. Students will discover the benefits and challenges of investing in the stock market as part of a broader, long-term investment strategy, as well as the risks and rewards of trading.

Training, materials, and support will be provided by Junior Achievement. The students' teacher will remain in the classroom to support the classroom volunteer mentors efforts. This program will meet for one or two periods for 5-6 consecutive weeks and concludes with the students participating in Junior Achievement's "Stock Market Challenge."
