Interpretive and Museum Volunteers
St. Paul's Church National Historic Site is seeking Interpretive and Museum Volunteers to greet visitors and provide customer service. These volunteers are friendly, outgoing, engaging, and welcoming, and they are the first staff members visitors see when visiting Westchester's only national park. By volunteering in interpretation, these individuals gain skills in public speaking, historical research, customer service, wayfinding, and community outreach. They also help staff the park's table at local community events.

This role with the National Park Service (NPS) is part of the Volunteers-in-Parks (VIP) Program. Since 1970, VIPs have assisted the NPS in carrying out mission-critical activities for our national parks, including trash cleanups, guided tours and public programs, planting flowers, and photography.
As a VIP, volunteers become part of a 50+ year legacy of supporting national parks and join thousands of other Americans who donate their time. VIPs are also eligible for benefits, such as the Federal Interagency Volunteer Pass for one year of free entry to national parks that charge entrance fees upon reaching 250 cumulative service hours. They will also be provided a uniform to wear while working and on public duty (shirt, hat, and other seasonally appropriate items). Serving as a VIP is also a great way to understand the federal workforce and build connections into a possible future federal career.
