41st Annual Rockland Read-In

Spring Valley High School is looking for volunteers with a love of books to read to students during the 41st Annual Rockland Read-In on Friday, February 14! Volunteers are invited to contribute 25-30 minutes of their time to read an excerpt from a book that they have personally selected, as well as speak with students about themselves—their career, interests, passions, and their personal experience with reading. A teacher will supervise the class during the reading. Volunteers who are fluent in Spanish and other languages are especially encouraged to sign up!

Students benefit greatly from having members of the community set such a wonderful example for them. This is a perfect opportunity for college graduates and seniors to share their passion for reading with today's youth.

Volunteers are needed to read during the following class periods; volunteers should arrive 15 minutes prior to their period start time:

• Period 2: 7:42 a.m.-8:37 a.m.
• Period 3: 8:40 a.m.-9:35 a.m.
• Period 4: 9:38 a.m.-10:33 a.m.
  (Lunch break: 10:33 a.m.-11:03 a.m.)
• Period 6: 11:05 a.m.-12:00 p.m.
• Period 7: 12:03 p.m.-12:58 p.m.
• Period 8: 1:01 p.m.-1:56 p.m.

Registration for this opportunity closes at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, February 12.
