2025 Canned Food Drive

United Way of Westchester and Putnam is hosting its second annual community canned food drive in honor of National Canned Food Month, which is observed in the United States every February. In order to raise awareness about canned food benefits, such as affordability, convenience, and nutritional value, United Way of Westchester and Putnam is collecting and donating canned foods to local pantries in Westchester and Putnam Counties.

Individuals and organizations may participate by donating canned foods directly to participating locations (below) or donating virtually by using this Amazon wishlist.


This is a self-directed opportunity. Follow the steps below to volunteer:

  1. Express interest below to record this opportunity in your Volunteer New York! profile and to alert the volunteer coordinator.
  2. To donate virtually: Click here to purchase from the Amazon wishlist
  3. To donate in-person: Collect healthy and nutritious canned goods (see suggested items to donate and participating locations here) and drop them off at participating locations during business operating hours between February 1-February 22
