Vine Cutting at Danner Family Preserve
Danner Family Preserve is a stunning sanctuary full of potential, but it needs some help! A thick mat of invasive vegetation and vines have slowed or stopped the growth of desirable vegetation. This preserve was once used as farmland, and the working of the earth created disturbances that invasive plants flourish in.
Volunteers are needed to join Westchester Land Trust staff to cut invasive vines and vegetation throughout Danner Family Preserve to help protect native trees and support forest health. Volunteers should wear long pants, closed-toe shoes, and long sleeves, as well as bring a water bottle. Work gloves and tools will be provided.
