2025 Wildflower Island Guides: Information Session

Teatown Lake Reservation is hosting an in-person information session to introduce new volunteers to its Wildflower Island Guide program. Prospective volunteers will have an opportunity to learn about the program and tour Wildflower Island to see if becoming a guide is the right fit. Volunteers joining the information session should wear weather-appropriate clothing and footwear to walk out to Wildflower Island on a trail.

Wildflower Island Guides are volunteers who lead small group tours of Teatown Lake Reservation's two-acre island. Wildflower Island Guides participate in two Saturday or Sunday morning sessions in the spring, plus monthly trainings on Saturday or Sunday through September. Novice guides will also work one-on-one with a mentor.

This role requires a commitment of at least 6 tours per season (April through September) or to work the equivalent hours on Wildflower Island garden maintenance.
