Radiology Department Volunteers

Burke Rehabilitation Hospital is seeking dedicated and compassionate volunteers to support the Radiology Department. Radiology Volunteers play an essential role in assisting medical staff, enhancing patient experiences, and contributing to the smooth operation of the department. Volunteers will gain exposure to the healthcare field, particularly within radiology, and will be involved in various tasks that ensure efficient and effective patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist patients in the waiting area, ensuring comfort and providing general support before and after their imaging procedures
• Help with patient transport to and from the radiology department, as needed
• Organize equipment and supplies
• Aid in patient check-in or check-out procedures, including completing necessary paperwork under supervision
• Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with hospital policies and HIPAA guidelines

Qualifications:

• Must be at least 16 years old (as per organization guidelines)
• Passion for healthcare and helping others
• Excellent communication skills and a compassionate demeanor
• Ability to work as part of a team
• Detail-oriented with the ability to follow instructions and protocols
• Previous experience in a healthcare setting is a plus, but not required
• Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to professional standards
• A willingness to learn and contribute to the department’s goals

Shifts Available:

• Mondays from 9 a.m.-12 p.m. and 2-5 p.m.
• Fridays from 9 a.m.-12 p.m. and 2-5 p.m.
