Spanish Interpreters
The Unitarian Universalist Congregation of the Hudson Valley is seeking Spanish interpreters to support its Fourth Fridays program for LGBTQIA+ youth and their allies in grades 9-12.
Tasks:
- Attend and assist at a youth event in Peekskill on a Friday evening between 5-7:30 p.m. (once per month)
- Interpret for youth and their caregivers as needed
- Facilitate conversation and interaction between volunteers, speakers, and youth attendees
Skills and qualifications:
- Must be over 18
- Fluent in Spanish and English
- Open-hearted
- Comfortable with teenagers
- Comfortable with sensitive issues
Time Commitment:
- This is a 2.5-hour commitment once a month from October through June. Volunteers can select the dates they are available below; UUCHV hopes to build a team of Interpreters who will rotate as needed
