Garden Club

Join Teatown Lake Reservation for its weekly volunteer meet-up focused on ecological stewardship. Garden Club volunteer tasks include removing invasive species (like barberry, euonymus, multiflora rose, and jetbead), propagating native plants, and performing general maintenance of the gardens. Volunteers will spend time on Wildflower Island, Teatown's propagation garden, and Cliffdale Farm depending on the tasks needed that day, and use tools such as large loppers.

Tasks are physical and volunteers should be prepared to work on uneven or potentially slippery terrain in a range of weather conditions. Volunteers should wear clothes that are weather-appropriate and can get dirty; sturdy, closed-toe shoes and work gloves; and bring bug spray, sun protection, and reusable water bottles.
