Tappan Hill School

As principal of the Tappan Hill School, it is my pleasure to welcome you to the 2018-2019 school year. It is our goal to help every student feel welcome and connected to the Southern Westchester BOCES-Tappan Hill community. We recognize that in order to be successful in school, our students need support from both the home and school. A strong partnership with you will make a great difference in our students’ education. Together we will work to ensure students reach their full potential. At Tappan Hill this year, we will have 11 classes for students with special needs. Our classes will concentrate on building academic, social/emotional and communications abilities and developing functional skills for all learners. Our school continues to be a team of very committed professionals with a common goal of providing high quality programs for all of our students. Joining our Special Education PTA is a great way to get involved in our school community and meet other families. SEPTA, which is in its ninth year, supports parents and caregivers in becoming more informed, sharing knowledge about available resources, and talking about new and ever-changing rules and laws that impact our community. My door is always open, and I welcome your input. Please feel free to call or email me to discuss any concerns you might have throughout the school year.
