Diaper Bank for Westchester
https://sharingshelf.org/what-we-do/#diapersDiaper need is a growing problem in our country. A clean diaper means a happy baby, but according to new data from the National Diaper Bank Network's 2023 "Diaper Check: Diaper Insecurity among U.S. Children and Families" report, one in two U.S. families cannot afford enough diapers to keep their infant or child clean, dry, and healthy. These babies are more vulnerable to painful rashes and urinary tract infections and require more trips to the doctor. Additionally, three in five parents miss work or school because they can’t afford the diapers required to leave their baby in childcare. Clean diapers are a basic need for every baby and toddler. The Diaper Bank for Westchester empowers our neighbors to lead healthy, dignified lives by striving to eliminate diaper need throughout Westchester County. The Diaper Bank for Westchester County is a joint effort by the Junior League of Central Westchester and The Sharing Shelf. The Diaper Bank does not distribute diapers to individuals; instead, we provide diapers to our partner agencies who work with those struggling to afford enough diapers each month. Our diapers come from donations, diaper drives, and governmental grants.
